Now in its 23rd year, The 48 Hour Film Project is a wild and sleepless weekend in which filmmakers (first-timers, hobbyists, amateurs & professionals!) make a short film — write, shoot and edit it — in just 48 hours! This year's submissions from filmmakers all over the Twin Cities will be shown on the BIG SCREEN at this special premiere event.
Established in 2001, The 48 Hour Film Project is an annual film competition in which teams of filmmakers are assigned a genre, a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue, and have 48 hours to create a short film containing those elements.
The winning film will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza in March 2025 for a chance at the grand prize — and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner!
