Sharp, witty, a little outrageous, and all Indigenous. Let’s get Rezzy!

Big Auntie Energy is the all-Ojibwe comedy trio of Deanna StandingCloud, Rob “The Rez Reporter” Fairbanks, and Trish Cook.  Join them for an evening of Native humor — this popular event sells out every year — don’t miss out!

For Deanna StandingCloud (Red Lake Nation of Anishinaabe), stand-up comedy is more than a chance to crack jokes about single motherhood. It is a way of processing and reclaiming all that has been stolen from her people. “Laughing is something that can’t be taken away from us,” she says.

Rob “The Rez Reporter” Fairbanks got his start reporting in the Polar Vortex from Leech Lake. Since then Rob has performed at clubs throughout the US and has an especially fierce social media following.

Trish Cook is a Southsider who has performed at clubs and venues throughout the north coast. Trish and NDN Way Comedy were featured in the Star Tribune in October 2022, and she was a finalist in the Funniest Person with a Day Job Contest.
