Chop & Steele is a comedic documentary feature, from the team behind Winnebago Man, about the power of friendship and the importance of comedy in the face of adversity. When childhood friends Nick Prueher and Joe Pickett start booking their gag strongman routine on unsuspecting morning news shows, their pranks end up going viral, landing them in federal court with a vengeful media conglomerate.
Best friends since childhood, the two perform as Chop & Steele and something they call the Found Footage Festival. What started 25 years ago as a show to entertain their friends has grown into their livelihood and has gained worldwide acclaim for the humor they find in esoteric VHS tapes.
Nick Prueher and Joe Pickett of the Found Footage Festival and director Ben Steinbauer will be in attendance for a post-screening Q&A, followed by a music-based version of the infamous Found Footage Festival!
(Directed by Ben Steinbauer & Berndt Mader, 77 min, 2022, USA)
