With innocent victims caught in the crossfire, both cop John Spartan (Sylvester Stallone) and violent criminal Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) are sentenced to a state of frozen incarceration known as “CryoPrison,” in a dystopian Los Angeles in 1996. When Spartan is finally thawed 36 years later, Los Angeles is now a pacifist utopia called San Angeles. But with Phoenix again on the loose, and no one violent enough to compete, Spartan must be thawed to team up with future cop Lenina (Sandra Bullock) and apprehend the killer. We’ve still got six years for that bathroom shell thingy to be invented.
