The Parkway Theater and Mill Street Productions announce the 5th Annual Do Re #MeToo concert, a now perennial favorite evening of music, laughter, and exposing sexism in pop music, all to raise money to protect abortion access.
This annual music and comedy show features some of the Twin Cities' favorite performers, doing kick-ass, in-your-face covers of the most sexist songs that we all know and love/hate. The Do Re #MeToo songsters turn these tunes on their heads and spit them out with a good kick in the patriarchal pants, all while spreading the word and raising money for the amazing work of Abortion Access Front (AAF)!
This year’s performers include Aby Wolf, Cindy Lawson, Diane Miller, Jaedyn James, Janie Miller, Janey Winterbauer, Mary Cutrufello, Molly Maher, Monica LaPlante, Savannah Smith, Tricky Miki — and you never know who might drop in!
All backed by the official Do Re #MeToo band, The Maneaters — a supergroup featuring Jenny Case, Barb Brynstad, Jessica Anderson, Maureen McFarlane, and Sue Orfield.
Founded in 2015 by comedian and Daily Show co-creator Lizz Winstead, Abortion Access Front (Abortion AF) is a nonprofit organization made up of activists, comedians, writers, and producers. They use humor to destigmatize abortion and expose the extremist forces working to destroy access to reproductive rights and abortion in all 50 states.
Abortion AF’s provocative and hilarious multimedia content educates people about the pervasive and discriminatory abortion laws that disproportionately impact people in BIPOC communities, while also working on the ground, growing support, and raising awareness for independent abortion providers- the community clinics who bear the brunt of anti-abortion legislation and harassment, and provide the majority of abortion care in the country.
