Post show meet & greet included with all tickets! DJ Jake Rudh of Transmission opens the night with an hour-long set celebrating music & video from XTC!
Making Plans for Nigel… Senses Working Overtime… Life Begins at the Hop… Mayor of Simpleton… Generals and Majors… Dear God… Sgt. Rock… XTC is one of the UK’s most revered and influential bands.
For almost five decades, XTC fans could only dream of witnessing the sensational XTC classic songbook played live. That dream has now become a reality. XTC’s legendary drummer, Terry Chambers, is back on the road with his band EXTC (named and approved by XTC frontman, Andy Partridge).
About EXTC
Alongside Terry, EXTC features frontman Steve Hampton (lead vocal & guitar - Joe Jackson, The Vapors, and Dead Crow Road) and Terry Lines (bass & vocals – The Rams and Dead Crow Road).
Terry Chambers (Drums)
The powerhouse behind XTC, Terry Chambers is one of the world's most respected drummers. As XTC's original drummer, Terry's unique rhythms propelled tracks like Making Plans for Nigel, Senses Working Overtime and Generals and Majors. With top producer Hugh Padgham (XTC, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel), Terry trailblazed the huge drum sounds that became the hallmark of hits like In the Air Tonight, Born in the USA and Hounds of Love. In 2016, Terry reunited with XTC bandmate, Colin Moulding. Under the name TC&I, Terry and Colin released The acclaimed Great Aspirations EP in 2017 and Naked Flames live album in 2019
Steve Hampton (Guitar, Vocals)
Steve Hampton is an accomplished guitarist, singer and songwriter who's worked with artists including Joe Jackson, The Vapors, The Move and Ashley Campbell (daughter of Glenn). Steve is also founder and frontman of acclaimed alt-country/Americana band, Dead Crow Road.
Terry Lines (Bass, Vocals)
Born and raised in Portsmouth UK, Terry was first inspired to pick up the bass after seeing Paul McCartney performing with The Beatles on TV.
He began his musical career playing with various bands in local pubs and clubs. In the late 70s, Terry met Steve Hampton, and together they set up a band called The Rams, where they wrote and performed their own material. The Rams became a well-respected success, supporting Ginger Baker and The Vapors at The Marquee Club in London.
In the early 90s, Terry took up the role of Paul McCartney, where he has since played in various Beatles tribute bands. The role came naturally to him being a lifelong Beatles fan and a left-handed player, just like Paul! He has performed all over the world playing his idol, including Europe, Asia, USA, and South America. Aside from The Beatles, his other musical influences include The Jam, Elvis Costello, and XTC.
Kicking off this special night celebrating the music of XTC is DJ Jake Rudh, both a Minneapolis club and radio DJ hosting "Transmission" the program heard on 89.3 The Current every Thursday night at 10 pm. Jake's worked in music for over 30 years including Capitol Records, NPR and Twin Cities alternative favorites REV 105 and Radio K. Having been voted "best club DJ" in the Twin Cities for ten straight years by the readers of City Pages magazine, he brings the varied mix of the club nights to the airwaves each week with a different theme to his show.
