Marlin (Albert Brooks), a clown fish, is overly cautious with his son, Nemo (Alexander Gould). When Nemo swims too close to the surface to prove himself, he is caught by a diver, and a horrified Marlin must set out to find him. Along the way he encounters Dory (Ellen DeGeneres), a blue reef fish with short-term memory loss, who writes notes to herself in the form of tattoos to remind her of the search for her wife’s killer.
