Daily Show co-creator, comedian, and activist Lizz Winstead returns to The Parkway Theater with her annual year-end wrap-up, Flocked Around and Found Out, her no-holds barred “2026 OUT NOW” Year in Review!
Two nights only, December 30 and 31 (New Year’s Eve).
The Minnesota native’s annual shows are a masterclass in mining all the comedy out of the news. Each year she brings her brilliance to the stage with a multimedia whirlwind of outrageous images and videos, all wrapped in hilarious commentary about the year that was.
2026: There are wars abroad – including one on testosterone levels, while the United States battles diarrhea lettuce at home.
We have built surveillance cameras that can read the serial number on a woman’s IUD, but it seems we have no technology to find Mitch.
And the Kelshi trades are popping off over the cage matches between the DNC and the DSA, who will win the midterm elections, and if there will even be midterm elections…
It has been a year riddled with scandal, SCOTUS decisions, looksmaxxing, and a manosphere gone mad.
Lizz Winstead understands how passionate Minnesotans are about all of it and how all of it affects their state:
“As someone who is NOT EMBARASSED TO BE FROM MINNESOTA,” she says, “Bringing this show to The Parkway is the highlight of my year. I am hoping folks will bring their mutual aid besties (but leave their colorful sex toys home) and come out for a night of primal laughter. 2026 has been an avalanche of insanity, much of it happening right here in our state. You couldn’t build a ballroom big enough to hold our feelings about it, so I want this show to be the catharsis we all need.”
With over 40 years of experience in the entertainment and news business, co-creating The Daily Show and founding Air America Radio, it’s no wonder Minnesota Governor Walz, and Lt Governor Flanagan have honored her by proclaiming December 18th, Lizz Winstead Day.
Lizz is a comedy legend and one of the top political comedians of our lifetime, and with Flocked Around And Found Out, she proves she is on top of her game.
Of course, she is. She is from Minnesota.
ABOUT LIZZ WINSTEAD
As co-creator and former head writer of The Daily Show, and co-founder of Air America Radio, comedian Lizz Winstead helped change the very landscape of how people get their news. Winstead is not only a writer and creator, she was also a correspondent on The Daily Show and co-hosted Unfiltered, Air America Radio’s mid-morning show, with Chuck D and Rachel Maddow.
Known as one of the top political satirists in America, Winstead is recognized by all the major media outlets including The New York Times, The Washington Post, O Magazine, and as Entertainment Weekly’s 100 Most Creative People. Winstead’s first book, Lizz Free Or Die: Essays, released in 2012, garnered incredible reviews. Ms. Magazine says, “Lizz Winstead is a sharp-witted truth-teller, and ‘Lizz Free or Die’ will inspire anyone who has ever talked back to the television or wished they could come up with satire as insightful as ‘The Daily Show.’”
Lizz continues to do stand-up, and make appearances on cable news, yet spends most of her time helming Abortion Access Front (AAF) an inclusive NYC- based reproductive rights organization she founded in 2015. AAF uses humor and outrage to expose anti-abortion hypocrisy and mobilizes people to take action in all 50 states. She also hosts the AAF weekly podcast, Feminist Buzzkills Live!, the perfect next step for Winstead combining her activism and comedy. It is a must-listen; new episodes drip on Fridays wherever you get your podcasts.
