Los Angeles-based Nigerian-American writer/director OYINDA will premiere her debut short film, Ida Shoots Her Shot.
Set against the backdrop of Minnesota, a place where Black narratives are rarely heard, Ida Shoots Her Shot (21 minutes) explores the timeless themes of desirability politics, negative self-talk, and putting oneself out there when you feel like you don't fit in.
More than just a premiere, this is a celebration of creative synergy, a night of laughter, connection, discourse, and an opportunity to be part of history (the first of the IDA UNIVERSE cult film collection!).
Along with the film (featuring an introduction and post-screening Q&A with and others involved in the production), enjoy dancing and music by DJ Kwey, a Ghanian-American producer and mult-iinstrumentalist based in Minneapolis.
