Get set for a wild ride of the comically absurd. Costumes encouraged!

Legendary filmmaker, writer, actor, and artist John Waters returns with an all-new show, The Naked Truth! Come early and take in a burlesque performance by Queenie Von Curves

John Waters is a man of many monikers: “The Prince of Puke,” “The Duke of Dirt,” “The Sultan of Sleaze.” The Naked Truth is the next chapter in John Waters’ rapid-fire, one-man spoken word Vaudevillian act, This Filthy World, celebrating the film career and joyously appalling taste of the man William Boroughs once called “The Pope of Trash.”

Famed the world over for his trash epics including Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble, Polyester, Serial Mom, Cry Baby, Hairspray, and coming soon to the big screen, the film adaptation of his brilliantly twisted first novel, Liarmouth: A Feel-Bad Romance. The recipient of numerous honors and accolades, most recently the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures opened “John Waters: Pope of Trash,” the first comprehensive exhibition dedicated to his contributions to cinema. He was also awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and American Cinema Editors selected Waters to receive the ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award in 2024.

Known as the Rubenesque Royale of Burlesque, Queenie von Curves is the producer of Bare Book Club Minneapolis, director of Dr. Sketchy's Minneapolis, dance instructor/creator of Dance for EVERY Body, body impression painter under The Curvy Canvas, and cast member of Black Hearts Burlesque. With her unorthodox style of striptease, cheeky sensuality, and clever costuming, it's no wonder the Quintessence of Curves and Quirk has been entertaining audiences across the country. A resident of South Minneapolis and a lifelong Queer artist through dance, theater, and burlesque, she’s so excited to open for John Waters!
