As America's stock of athletic young men is depleted during World War II, a professional all-female baseball league springs up in the Midwest, funded by publicity-hungry candy maker Walter Harvey (Garry Marshall). Enter the Rockford Peaches: an all-female professional baseball team led by superstar Dottie Hinson (Geena Davis), her scrappy sister Kit Keller (Lori Petty), a chain-smoking scout (Jon Lovitz), and a washed-up coach (Tom Hanks). Together, they battle their way to fame and glory — though still for a fraction of the pay of male professional athletes.
A Bar of Their Own (ABOTO) is a family-friendly, inclusive restaurant located in the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis. ABOTO is the first sports bar in the Midwest to exclusively show women’s sports, elevating women leagues, teams, and athletes to the level they deserve.
