Come sing along to "Downtown (Skid Row)", "Suddenly Seymour," "Somewhere That's Green," "Mean Green Mother From Outer Space," and many more hits from this doo wop-inspired musical!
Proceeds benefit Kith + Kin.
Kith + Kin Chorus is a new, uncommon choir in the Twin Cities, open to singers of all skill levels, and currently 60 singers strong. If you can match a pitch and carry a tune, you can join! Voices are the original instrument and few things are more unifying than voices, raised together in song.
Led by founder Rachel Kay Ries (aka Her Crooked Heart), K + K Chorus aims to nurture a welcoming, joyful environment where anyone who longs to sing in a choir again (or for the first time!) can. Singers don't need to be able read music or have theory training. Songs are taught with the help of sheet music and reference recordings. The song material is a wide mix of classic & indie rock, pop, folk and whatever else inspires, arranged for a choir by Rachel.
K + K Chorus gives back to the Twin Cities community by holding a fundraising concert at the end of each season, the proceeds of which go to local organizations that strive to make our Cities better, safer, healthier places for all. Season 1 proceeds went to CAPI USA and Season 2 supported the work of Open Arms of Minnesota.
Kith + Kin Chorus meets 7:30-9 Mondays and Season 3 runs Jan through May 2019. Registration is now closed for Season 3 but drop a line to kithandkinchorus@gmail.com to be notified for upcoming seasons.
Let's fill this hurting world with harmony.
