One night only! In a world of tribute nights and cover songs, come hear original songs sung by the people who wrote them! Homegrown! Organic! From the heart and soul of the songwriters themselves! With proceeds supporting Foothold Twin Cities.

It’s true. One night only: led by Jim Walsh (Jim Walsh & The Dog Day Cicadas) along with Lucy Michell (Little Fevers), Terry Walsh (Belfast Cowboys/St. Dominic’s Trio), Sarah Streitz, Doug Collins (Doug Collins and the Receptionists), Colleen Martin Oake and Lindsay Paine (Oake & Paine) singing and playing the songs of Jim Walsh, the songs of Terry Walsh, the songs of Doug Collins, the songs of Lucy Michell, the songs of Sarah Streitz, and the songs of Colleen Martin Oake and Lindsay Paine. (Along with a few crowd-pleasing covers.)

Back in 2008, The Mad Ripple Hootenanny (led by veteran Minneapolis-based writer, author, journalist, and singer/songwriter/flame-keeper/maestro of the Mad Ripple Hootenanny) played The Parkway Theater, with headlines in City Pages and the New York Times calling it a 'star-studded' musical event. Fast forward to 2020, and the Hoot is back—star-studded once again and a guaranteed headline-making night of music from some of Minneapolis' best songwriters.

Walsh says, "I love a really meaningful night of music, where you walk away and keep feeling and thinking about the songs you heard. Hopefully, something impacts you anew, the way an in-the-flesh songwriter only can. For me, original songs cut deepest that way, in that we get to hear something that comes straight from the heart and life experience of the songwriter. Then you combine that with the Hoot’s one-night-only campfire vibe, an all-for-one-one-for-all group of songwriters who actually listen to each other, respond to each other, laugh with each other, and it’s about as good as it gets."
