Iranian-Canadian pop star Marjan Farsad and her band perform in Minneapolis for the first time, playing songs from newer albums as well as many traditional favorites.
Also an acclaimed illustrator and animator, the performances will feature a backdrop of stunning images and animation all created by Marjan Farsad herself.
Born in Tehran in 1983, Marjan Farsad is a versatile artist with a multidisciplinary background. Her artistic journey began as an animator in Tehran before she gradually delved into the realm of songwriting. Upon relocating to Montreal in 2009, she pursued her studies in animation while simultaneously embarking on her debut album, inspired by the online success of her song "Porteghal." Since then, Marjan has been consistently crafting songs that merge her visual artistry with music, resulting in enduring and authentic narratives. Presently based in Minnesota, she continues to produce animations and music, showcasing her unwavering creative spirit.
