Three Minneapolis songwriters make their Parkway debut, each bringing their own distinctive voice and disciplined approach to their craft.

Matt Latterell returns from a performance hiatus with new focus as a piano balladeer. Jill Zimmerman will share the stage for a special duo performance, fresh off the heels of her lush new record, Universes. Opening the evening is Nat Harvie, who has collaborated with artists such as Zoo Animal and Alan Sparhawk. Following the show, attendees are invited to stay for a reading from Matt’s comic series, Ted Cruz From Memory.

Following his origins in the mid-2000s Minneapolis folk scene, Matt Latterell wrote and produced a string of records including Life On Land, Phase & Field, and People You May Know. Named Best Songwriter by City Pages in 2016, he’s collaborated with artists such as Zoo Animal, Lucy Michelle, Jill Zimmerman, Nallo, and the Prairie Fire Lady Choir. Recently, Matt has become a dedicated visual artist and is the creator of the daily post-it note Instagram comic, Ted Cruz From Memory.

Jill Zimmerman’s 2019 release, Universes, is a lush indie pop collaboration with producer Matt Latterell. The songs take place at night, lit by neon, headlights, and dying stars.
