A one-of-a-kind show where group therapy meets standup comedy!

Jesse The Shrink, a bona fide Gen X therapist of 20 years, guides four “maturing” professional comedians through a brief discussion about this phenomenon called “middle age.” He then gives them each a “therapy assignment” to walk to the mic and deliver a standup comedy performance on the topic!

Featuring 2025 Funniest Headliner winner Jodie Maruska, longtime Louie Anderson opener Jason Schommer, Acme Comedy Club favorite Linda Aarons, and 2025 Funniest Person in St Paul winner Jethro Trogo.

“One of the best shows in the Twin Cities!” “My stomach hurt from laughing!”

What do you get when you mix a shrink and a comedian? This guy! Jesse is a bona fide licensed therapist and standup comic who gives audiences a sneak peek into the inner-workings and often hilarious experiences of a mental health professional. Whether he’s talking about navigating virtual therapy sessions during an apocalypse or just trying to figure out what to tell drunk people he does for a living, one thing’s sure: after hearing his stories you’ll never see therapy (or your therapist) the same again! Jesse is producer and host of several Twin Cities comedy shows including Jesse The Shrink’s Midlife Crisis Show, the St Paul Comedy All-Stars Show, Friday Night Comedy at Gambit Brewing, and Comedy Night at Station 10. He’s also co-founder of Freshly Squeezed Comedy, creator of the Funniest Person in St Paul and Funniest Headliner contests, and runs a weekly comedy open mic at Gambit Brewing. Jesse won the 2024 Clear Water Comedy contest at The Plus in Eau Claire, WI, was a 2024 Funniest Person With A Day Job finalist at House of Comedy in Mall of America, and is a regular guest on the Tom Barnard Show.

Jodie Maruska has been doing comedy longer than you've been ALIVE. And she's still as funny as ever! Winner of the 2025 Gambit Brewing Funniest Headliner contest, Jodie may have grown up in Minnesota but using the restroom at Cabella’s is as close to camping as she gets! After being asked for her autograph the first night she performed standup, she knew she had found her calling. Thirty-plus years later, Jodie is a comedy veteran who has performed across the country in clubs, events, theaters, casinos, colleges, and yes, even a couple of backyards. In the Twin Cities, she has been seen regularly at Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy and the Comedy Corner Underground, and back in the day she was a headlining staple at the now-defunct but once legendary Joke Joint Comedy Club. She also appeared in the One Man Minneapolis at the Pantages Theater and was recently featured in MNComedy. Jodie made her debut appearance at the 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival in 2017, where she was thrilled to be a part of the “Best of the Festival” show. She appeals to audiences of all ages and uses her familiar “Minnesota-nice” demeanor to great, unexpected comedic effect. Just don’t ask her to go fishing!

Jason Schommer has a knack for finding the comedic gold in life’s most mundane and routine moments and delights audiences by proving that truth really is funnier than fiction. Patrick Strait from MN Comedy says, “Nobody tells a better story than Jason Schommer. A long-time opener for the legendary Louie Anderson, Schommer is a multi-layered talent who combines standup, storytelling, acting and improv to create a unique experience every time he’s on stage. Jason is a true performer in every sense of the word, and one of the most engaging personalities in all avenues of Twin Cities comedy.” Jason has performed in clubs and theaters all over the USA as well as Canada and for the US Military in Japan. He has also won numerous Story Slam competitions, performed at The Fitzgerald Theatre, The Guthrie Theater, and The Pantages Theater, worked for The Rosie O’Donnell Show and the FX television series Baskets. In 2017, Jason released his first live comedy album “Confessions of a Local Celebrity.” Most recently he went viral on TikTok by starring in a video with Dave Ryan from KDWB and hitting over 5.3 million views!

Linda Aaaron’s quiet demeanor is the perfect set-up to her smart and unexpected punchlines. Her knowledge of pop culture, keen insights into human nature, and dry-as-dust delivery makes her a favorite with audiences of all kinds! She’s been a giant part of the Minneapolis comedy scene for years and has become known for her deadpan, fast-paced comedy style that audiences adore. Linda has won the Funniest Person in Minnesota contest at Sisyphus Brewing, was first runner-up in Acme Comedy Company's Funniest Person in the Twin Cities contest, and can be seen performing regularly at Acme. She also performed in The Boston Comedy Festival, San Francisco Sketchfest, and has opened for renowned comedy headliners such as Louie Anderson.

A kind-hearted family man and authentic Philippines import, Jethro Trogo is known for warming audience’s hearts with his endearing smile and tales of life as an immigrant. Then he kills them with uncontrollable laughter. A fast-rising star on the Twin Cities comedy scene, Jethro recently won the 2025 Funniest Person in St Paul contest and was a finalist in the 2025 Funniest Person contest at Mall of America’s House of Comedy. In addition to telling jokes he also recently started producing his own shows, including the Just Pho Laughs comedy showcase in his hometown of Eagan!
