Classic films scored live every first Sunday by Al Church and Friends
Al Church's cinematic orchestra returns to The Parkway with special musical guest The Nunnery, creating a lush and dreamy soundscape set against the backdrop of the 1964 post-apocalyptic science fiction classic The Last Man On Earth starring the legendary master of horror, Vincent Price.
Like a peanut butter & jelly sandwich wrapped around a peppered pickle spear — this is a sweet and spicy aural & visual combination demanding to be experienced!
The Nunnery is a solo act of Minneapolis-based artist, Sarah Elstran.
The Nunnery begins with one voice, layered upon itself becoming a lush soundscape. Creating melding meditative, lush soundscapes with layered vocal loops and catchy hooks. More of an experience than just a sound, The Nunnery's somewhat-improvised performances are informed by the spaces in which they occur, and her live shows often incorporate other forms of art such as live visual projections.

This month Al & friends present the 1964 post-apocalyptic science fiction classic The Last Man On Earth starring the legendary master of horror, Vincent Price!
How do you pass your days as the last man on Earth? For Robert Morgan (Vincent Price) it involves cleaning the streets of those killed by the plague and killing vampires as they sleep. Nights are no better since the vampires are looking for him. For Robert this is a daily ritual until he meets another survivor named Ruth (Franca Bettoia). Can Robert and Ruth get a cure so others don t become vampires in time to return the world to normal?
Filmed in Italy, The Last Man on Earth is based on the Richard Matheson novel I Am Legend.
Whether he backing on guitar, drums, or keyboards for local stalwarts such as Gaelynn Lea or Actual Wolf, or fronting his own popular 80’s infused solo act — Al Church has become a Swiss Army Knife of the local music scene. And now he’s bringing his talents back to The Parkway for the monthly series, Major Major Minor Minor (MMMM), a live cinematic soundtrack. Al’s signature sound will be accompanied by special guests, and your favorite visual gems, projected on the big screen.
