Come celebrate The Neighborhood Quartet’s first album release party!

The new album from the group of acclaimed Minneapolis musicians (Steve Roehm-vibraphone; Dan Schwartz-lap steel, guitar, vocals; Nick Salisbury-bass; and Greg Schutte-drums) grooves through the urban city scenes and floats above the ethereal prairie landscapes.

Also joining this special evening is Dylan Hicks & Small Screens.

Remember sitting in your living room as a kid? The shag carpet tickling the back of your legs. You were chewing on your Marathon bar and sipping from a can of Rondo Soda while watching your favorite TV show… was it CHiPs or S.W.A.T.?… Doesn’t matter they both were great and so was the music in them. The Neighborhood Quartet might just take you back to those times with their groovy 70’s theme song-inspired tunes, but sorry Rondo is long gone, but I’m sure you will find something from the bar to crush your thirst!

The quartet's unique instrumentation brings a sound that is ethereal and groovy. They blend pop and soul influences with roots and jazz to bring a fresh take on tunes that fit perfectly with whatever you are drinking.

Dylan Hicks & Small Screens is a free-ranging pop group that draws on various singer-songwriter traditions, pop, R&B, jazz, literary-musical hybrids, and improvisation. The group’s 2022 album, Airport Sparrows, was called “ambitious and elegant” by the Star Tribune. Its second album, a set of songs collaboratively arranged for nonet, is due in the fall. Performing at The Parkway in its more customary six-piece line-up, the group will be Christopher Thomson, saxophones; Michelle Kinney, cello; Zacc Harris, guitar; Hicks, vocals and piano; Dan Carpel, bass; and Peter Hennig, drums. Hicks is also a novelist and the co-leader of Munson-Hicks Party Supplies.
