Minnesota bluegrass legends come together for one night to perform in memory of the late great Peter Ostroushko and Alan Jesperson, who both passed away unexpectedly in 2021.

Becky Thompson (The Sky Blue Water Boys) and Jon Garon (Comfort Station) lead an evening of music-making including special guests Dan Lund, Mark Kreitzer, Cal Hand, Stymie Seamans (The Daisy Dillman Band), and Liz & Jake Ashworth.

A truly memorable night of music in homage to two of Minnesota's most beloved musicians:

Peter Ostroushko, a celebrated fiddler and mandolinist and Alan Jesperson, often called the godfather of the Twin Cities bluegrass music scene.

Becky Thompson has been a Twin Cities music fixture for decades and formerly was the lead singer in The Sky Blue Water Boys with Dan Lund and Peter Ostroushko. She has also appeared on Prairie Home Companion and countless other shows.

Dan Lund is one of finest guitarists in the country – especially when it come to the famous “Fender Telecaster” sound.  His bass voice makes a great accompaniment to his stellar playing. He has teamed with Becky for 50 years.

Mark Kreitzer plays every stringed instrument (and piano) and is an expert in all styles – from Gypsy Jazz to Bluegrass.  He is also a prolific songwriter. He currently teaches stringed instruments at Carlton College in Northfield as well as gigging regularly.

Steve “Stymie” Seamans is a co-founder of The Daisy Dillman Band, and played with Jon Garon and Dan Lund in The Prairie Ferrets. An accomplished bass and guitar player and a prolific songwriter, he also owns Stymie Studios.

Formerly with the popular group Comfort Station, Jon Garon has played with many notable pickers, including John Denver’s band, Clay Hess, and Jack Lawrence.  He was also the owner of My Favorite Guitars, a Martin dealership, for many years. He is now retired and plays for fun.

One the most versatile and talented players anywhere, Liz Ashworth plays piano, violin, guitar and mandolin among others.  She is among the most gifted musicians in the country, and shines on everything she touches.

A noted musician himself, Jake Ashworth is an accomplished banjoist, bassist and guitarist.  He and his wife Liz enjoy performing at festivals and venues across the Midwest. Jake is from a large musical family and has seven brothers and sisters – all of whom play music.

Cal Hand has been around the Twin Cities acoustic music scene since the 60s and does a great job on both steel guitar and resonator.  He has done many studio sessions and is well-known in the music community.
