With over 600,000 YouTube subscribers and millions of views, folk duo The Other Favorites come to Minneapolis for the first time ever, performing in support of their new album, Unamericana.
Opening the night is Chicago-based alt-folk duo, Edwin.
The Other Favorites are an indie folk duo based in Brooklyn, New York, comprised of Joshua Lee Turner and Carson McKee. They are perhaps best known for their performances on YouTube, which have garnered millions of views.
After meeting at their 8th grade talent show, Turner and McKee began performing together in their former hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. They self-released their first full-length album, Novelty, in 2011, followed by Naysayer in 2018, and Live in London in 2019. Their newest album, Unamericana, will be released on November 19, 2021.
Edwin is an alt-folk band formed by Jacob and Matthew Boll who split their time between Chicago and Los Angeles. Intricate guitar, ethereal instrumentation, pedal steel, light synth, interweaving harmony, and a solid dry beat build the core of Edwin's new album West. This core supports the singers at the center of songs. Jacob and Matthew deliver deep, introspective, and honest lyrics that dig for meaning with voices that are vulnerable yet unwavering.
