Indie folk greats Rogue Valley's reprisal of their epic album series inspired by nature's four seasons continues with a live performance of their Autumn release, Geese in the Flyway, performed in its entirety, and featuring lush harmonies and a soundscape of glorious melodies.

A rare opportunity to see this much-beloved band, along with an opening set by special guest Minneapolis singer/songwriter, Ben Rosenbush.

Rogue Valley is an Americana band based in Minnesota; in the Twin Cities where the blend of urban development and natural landscapes converge along the shores of the storied Mississippi River. Since racing onto the scene a little over a decade ago, with 4 full-length albums in a single year, things have been relatively quiet with regards to new music. In 2016 the band released the twangy surf-rock anthemic collection radiate/dissolve and the following year, a single featuring vocalist Linnea Mohn, Taking Possession, but after that has been mostly sporadic optimistic social media posts promising “Coming Soon.”

The band members have all been busy with other music and creative projects; Linnea singing with other artists including Aby Wolf, Jonatha Brooke, and contributing to a musical with playwright Perrin Post. Drummer Luke Anderson and guitarist Peter Sieve have joined Lissie’s band for some tour dates, and bassist Cody McKinney is possibly the busiest low end in the Twin Cities. Singer-songwriter Chris Koza has released 2 solo albums and an instrumental album since radiate/dissolve and will be joining legendary songwriter Gordon Lightfoot later this summer on a run of midwest dates.

Now, the hum of optimism surrounding new music is beginning a tangible crescendo. Chris & Co are aligning with Kevin Bowe (Paul Westerberg, Ghost Hounds, Alison Scott), and the long-simmering tracks are being finalized this Spring. With contributions from The Laurels String Quartet, cellist Dan Lawonn, multi-instrumentalist Jillian Rae, banjo from Pete Hennig, and other amazing musicians, Rogue Valley’s forthcoming album promises to be their most sonically rich and epic yet. The band will release a handful of singles beginning Summer 2022 with the full album release to be announced in conjunction.

In chronicling the bands progression through their sound and over so many years, Rogue Valley is reprising those 4 albums-in-a-year throughout 2022, playing each album in its entirety at 4 unique shows in the Twin Cities. The first was in June celebrating their Spring album, Crater Lake, followed by a performance of their Summer album, The Bookseller’s House, in July. Now the band celebrates Autumn with Geese in the Flyway — and the series will wrap up this Winter with False Floors.
