The beloved exclusive Parkway performance returns!
A rare orchestrated live performance of the Beatles' landmark 8th album, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (released 57 years ago in May 1967), performed in its entirety from start to finish, along with a second set devoted to late-period Beatles classics.
The 12-piece Shabby Road Orchestra will be joined on an expanded Parkway stage by a staple of friends, including members of the Laurels String Quartet, cellist Michelle Kinney, harpist Phala Tracy, sitarist Mark Ilaug, and tabla percussionist Ron Fearing.
“We were putting something down on tape that could only be done on tape.” - George Martin
Released as the Beatles’ 8th album in May of 1967, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band stands as a singular achievement in the history of recorded music. An innovative mash-up of counter culture anxieties, psychedelia, vaudeville, Hindustani classical composition and culminating in the epic orchestral rock of "A Day in the Life," for decades the iconic release was ranked as the greatest album of all time by Rolling Stone, and it remains a creative high point for the Beatles.
