Neil Young’s 1972 Harvest and 1992 Harvest Moon albums sung by women. Sure to blow your mind…and any nearby clouds away! Only at The Parkway on the Harvest Moon weekend!
Celebrate the Harvest season at the 5th Annual Harvest at The Parkway, a special performance of Neil Young’s iconic albums Harvest (1972) and Harvest Moon (1992), presented by SimpleGifts featuring Billy McLaughlin.
On the weekend of this year’s Harvest Moon, the beloved songs of Neil Young (including favorites like “Harvest Moon” and “Old Man,” along with rarely-covered deeper tracks) shimmer anew under the spell of siren-voices by Carin Vagle, Karen Paurus, and Heather Moen. Ladies singing Neil Young? Yes — and loving it!
Whistle/flutes/bagpipes by world famous "wind-powered-artist" Laura MacKenzie give this show a remarkable Celtic twist. You'll hear a multi-layered sound with Billy McLaughlin (acoustic guitar), Dan Ristrom (bass), Patrick Nelson (drums), Billy O (percussion), Lisa Z (piano), and Nathan Wilson (fiddle/mandolin).
The 7-piece award winning backing band is sure to blow your mind and every cloud away too. Plus MoonPies for everyone!
Billy says, “Last year was so fun and it sold-out! Be an early-bird this time! We don't want to miss you, k? Let's all give it up for Neil Young!!!"
Billy McLaughlin has been changing people’s idea of what an acoustic guitar can sound like since the 1980s. He is recognized as an innovative performer and composer who embraces the advantages of acoustic guitar amplification, unorthodox techniques, and altered tunings while celebrating a gift for melody. His enormous yet fluid acoustic guitar tone has carried him around the world, to Billboard’s Top 10 Chart and most recently through a devastating medical disorder called focal dystonia. McLaughlin has had to re-learn the guitar left-handed and is in the early stages of what might be described as ‘one of the great musical-comeback stories of all time.” His story is the subject of an award-winning documentary film, Changing Keys – Billy McLaughlin and the Mysteries of Dystonia.
“...you may swear Billy McLaughlin is two of the greatest acoustic guitarists you’ve ever heard.” — Pittsburgh Post Gazette
“... it’s amazing that such an extensive sound comes from one instrument.” — Chicago Sun Times
