Featuring Peter Guertin on piano and lead vocals, along with Doug Collins (Doug Collins & The Receptionists) and Mick Sterling.
The songs of Warren Zevon are beloved by all genres of musicians who appreciated the unmistakable dry wit and sarcasm in his lyrics and his amazing melodies he performed with top players in the LA scene.
SPLENDID ISOLATION celebrates the wide array of songs from Zevon — from his early work with compositions like “Carmelita,” “Desperados Under The Eaves” and “Poor Poor Pitiful Me” — to songs from his breakthrough album Excitable Boy (“Johnny Strikes Up The Band,” “Werewolves of London,” and Accidentally Like A Martyr” — along with later songs from Splendid Isolation and The Envoy.
Twin Cities native Peter Guertin is a highly in-demand pianist and was the Musical Director at Brave New Workshop for three decades. He also performs frequently in Mick Sterling Presents shows around the region. A long-time and avid Zevon fan, Peter channels Warren Zevon and is joined by an amazing band featuring Steve Price of The Suburbs, Steve Lehto and Stephen Morgan on guitars.
