Luke Skywalker begins a journey that will change the galaxy in Star Wars Episode IV - A New Hope. Nineteen years after the formation of the Empire, Luke is thrust into the struggle of the Rebel Alliance when he meets Obi-Wan Kenobi, who has lived for years in seclusion on the desert planet of Tatooine. Obi-Wan begins Luke’s Jedi training as Luke joins him on a daring mission to rescue the beautiful Rebel leader Princess Leia from the clutches of Darth Vader and the evil Empire.

The 501st Legion is an all-volunteer member organization of over 17,000 members worldwide, which seeks to promote interest in Star Wars through the building and wearing of quality villain costumes, and to facilitate the use of these costumes for Star Wars-related events as well as contributions to the local community through costumed charity and crew member work.
The local 501st is represented by the Central Garrison, which proudly serves North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota.
