American musician and recording legend T Bone Burnett comes to The Parkway as part of his first U.S. concert tour in 18 years, performing songs from his critically acclaimed new album, The Other Side, along with selections spanning his illustrious, more-than-50-year career.

Burnett will be joined by bandmates and long-time associates Dennis Crouch on bass, Colin Liden on guitars, and David Mansfield on fiddle and mandolin.

His first solo album of all new material in almost two decades, The Other Side finds the Oscar and Grammy-winning composer, producer, and songwriter at his best, featuring some of the richest vocals of Burnett’s entire career, described as “the most honest reflection of himself he’s ever made (Mojo), “supremely inviting, warm and ruefully radiant” and “a crown on a career still going strong” (Uncut).

T Bone Burnett (born Joseph Henry Burnett) is well known for his work with everyone from Robert Plant and Alison Krauss to Brandi Carlile and Elton John, as well as on iconic soundtracks, including for the acclaimed films O Brother, Where Art Thou? andWalk the Line.

His newest album, The Other Side, is a clutch of songs that reflect a new outlook and approach Burnett didn’t even know he was seeking. It features old friends Rosanne Cash and Steven Soles, one of Burnett’s early bandmates; newer artists Lucius and Weyes Blood; and longtime trusted musical companions, including Dennis Crouch, Stuart Duncan, Jay Bellerose and Rory Hoffman. The album is a haunting 12-song collection with a loose love story at its center, following a couple that may no longer be of this plane. Co-produced by Colin Linden and Mike Piersante, The Other Side features that high-fidelity fashion for which Burnett is known and makes you feel like you are in the room with the band as they make their way through the songs, which include the dreamy, Orbisonian ballad “Hawaiian Blue Song,” featuring Soles. Burnett calls it a country blues album — quite a 180-degree turn from the mechanized electronics of his Invisible Light records from 2019 and 2022.
