Teenage brothers Michael (Jason Patric) and Sam (Corey Haim) move with their mother (Dianne Wiest) to a small town in northern California. While the younger Sam meets a pair of kindred spirits in geeky comic-book nerds Edward (Corey Feldman) and Alan (Jamison Newlander), Michael falls for Star (Jami Gertz) -- who turns out to be in thrall to David (Kiefer Sutherland), leader of a local gang of miscreants who attend concerts featuring sweaty, shredded, shirtless sax players.
Join us before the movie for trivia with Lauren Anderson!
Lauren Anderson began as an actor/writer for The Brave New Workshop Comedy Theatre in 2004--the BNW is the longest-running satirical comedy theatre in the country--and Lauren has starred in more consecutive shows there than any other actor in the 65-year history of the Brave New Workshop. This fall, 2024, will be her 20th season onstage! You can currently find Lauren in her 62nd production, "No Country For Two Old Men,” at the Brave New Workshop.
Lauren also often performs with other improv groups around town, most notably Five Man Job, FOTERSON, and Mud Coven. She is a founder and co-producer of the Twin Cities Improv Festival, now in its 18th season. She has been named Lavender Magazine's Artist of the Year (2015), and Growler Magazine's Best Local Comedian (2019).
In addition to acting, writing, improvising, directing, and teaching, she is the creator and host of Noodle Pie Island, an interactive Children's show on YouTube. Lauren is also the author/illustrator of the children's book “Spaghetti Head Ned '' (available on Amazon.com), a painter, crafter, and the founder of her Trampoline passion project, Trampnation!
