Daily Show co-creator, comedian, and activist Lizz Winstead returns to The Parkway with her annual year-end wrap-up, The Winstead Files: Who’s On The 2025 List, with two shows, December 27th and 31st (New Year’s Eve).

Phase one of the return to Gilead is near completion. RFK is answering his call of duty by… swimming in it. “Commander” Hegseth is taking over DC, and the whole government wants to take over your D and C. And on top of it all an epidemic of carpal tunnel syndrome is coming from all those strongly worded letters of concern being written to, ahem, fight back…? From the tariff grift to hiding Epstein’s list, somebody’s gotta make (non)sense of it all and Twin Cities native and comedian Lizz Winstead is just the person to do it!

It’s the comedians who are getting America through democracy’s dumpster fire by poking holes in political hypocrisy, whether it’s exposing the biggest monsters abusing Baby Oil or mocking the biggest morons on a ColdPlay Jumbotron.

And Lizz Winstead is one of the best. In 2025 the “cruelty is the point” crowd has doubled down on the evil. Thankfully, Winstead promises another amazing show that takes all of our feelings about it and turns it into a night of catharsis that will have audiences laughing through the insanity with her hilarious insight.

And whether onstage or online, she never holds back, saying what we're all thinking….“People need comedians more than ever as we navigate how to exist in a nation falling prey to this Keystone Klan,” Winstead says. “This is a year like no other, and laughing through the chaos reminds us of our humanity and that we have each other to get through this!”

She also offers this ray of hope, “Another bonus with my show is that The Parkway isn’t involved in a jillion dollar global entertainment merger, so no chance of the show being cancelled with a phone call from the Oval Orifice.”

Winstead’s annual shows are so much more than stand-up.

She always brings a rapid fire multi-media performance, using hilarious visuals and video that combine the vibes she created at The Daily Show, with her own brand of political comedy. This multi-layered approach keeps audiences on the edge of their seats, trying to make sure they don’t miss a beat. Lizz Winstead is the comic we need in this moment and The Winstead Files is sure to be a cardio work-out for the psyche you didn’t know you needed.

Winstead’s trademark brand of political comedy has made an impact nationwide. Here in Minnesota Governor Walz, and Lt Governor Flanagan have proclaimed December 18th Lizz Winstead Day, honoring her contributions to the state and the nation. Winstead says that if people have any doubt on whether they can laugh, this should be the endorsement they need!

ABOUT LIZZ WINSTEAD

As co-creator and former head writer of The Daily Show, and co-founder of Air America Radio, comedian Lizz Winstead helped change the very landscape of how people get their news. Winstead is not only a writer and creator, she was also a correspondent on The Daily Show and co-hosted Unfiltered, Air America Radio’s mid-morning show, with Chuck D and Rachel Maddow.

Known as one of the top political satirists in America, Winstead is recognized by all the major media outlets including The New York Times, The Washington Post, O Magazine, and as Entertainment Weekly’s 100 Most Creative People. Winstead’s first book, Lizz Free Or Die: Essays, released in 2012, garnered incredible reviews. Ms. Magazine says, “Lizz Winstead is a sharp-witted truth-teller, and ‘Lizz Free or Die’ will inspire anyone who has ever talked back to the television or wished they could come up with satire as insightful as ‘The Daily Show.’”

Lizz continues to do stand-up, and make appearances on cable news, yet spends most of her time helming Abortion Access Front (AAF) an inclusive NYC- based reproductive rights organization she founded in 2015. AAF uses humor and outrage to expose anti-abortion hypocrisy and mobilizes people to take action in all 50 states. She also hosts the AAF weekly podcast, Feminist Buzzkills Live!, the perfect next step for Winstead combining her activism and comedy. It is a must-listen; new episodes drip on Fridays wherever you get your podcasts.
