Named "Most Popular Guitar Player" by Rolling Stone, Tommy Emmanuel has achieved enough musical milestones to satisfy several lifetimes. At the age of six, he was touring regional Australia with his family band. By 30, he was a rock n’ roll lead guitarist burning up stadiums throughout Europe. At 44, he became one of five people ever named an honorary Certified Guitar Player (C.G.P.) by his idol, music icon Chet Atkins (who called Emmanuel the "world's greatest finger-picker"). Today, he plays hundreds of sold-out shows every year from Nashville to Sydney to London.

Two-time Grammy nominee Tommy Emmanuel is one of Australia’s most respected musicians. The legendary guitarist is renowned around the globe of his complex finger style technique, energetic performances, and the use of percussive effects on the guitar.
Tommy’s unique style – he calls it simply “finger style” – is akin to playing guitar the way a pianist plays piano, using all ten fingers. Rather than using a whole band for melody, rhythm, bass, and drum parts, Tommy plays all that – and more – on one guitar. Guitar legend Chet Atkins was one of the first to inspire Emmanuel to try this “fingerpicker” style as a child. Decades later, Atkins himself became one of Emmanuel’s biggest fans, eventually bestowing upon him the rare title of “Certified Guitar Player.”
With a professional career that spans five decades, he continues to intersect with some of the finest musicians throughout the world. A household name in his native Australia, Tommy has garnered hundreds of thousands of loyal fans worldwide.
