A collaboration of live music and dance, artists inspiring one another, exploring movement through sound and sound through movement.

Kid Villain (Alex Proctor) pairs with three passionate dancers from HoneyWorks led by Berit Ahlgren, and breathtaking musician Aby Wolf pairs with the commanding force of tap dancer Kaleena Miller.

Collaborations that each premiered earlier in 2023 now come together to be redefined and reinvestigated in a shared space.

About the Artists

Aby Wolf is a Minneapolis-based vocalist, music maker, and passionate collaborator with an elastic skillset. Whether writing vocal arrangements, fulfilling commissions, or performing in clubs, theaters, and schools everywhere, from Brainerd to Bratislava to Beijing, Aby brings a palpable element of joy to whatever endeavor she pursues. A lifelong learner with an ever-expanding curiosity, Wolf’s sound is distinguished not by typical markers of genre or instrumentation but by her impressive range of expression and experimentation. In the secluded depths between the woeful pains of the human condition and some sort of mysterious serenity, Kid Villain emerges with a soundscape to float in the space between. Led by Alex Proctor, hailing from the cold and serene Minnesota tundra, their music resonates in the quiet spaces of the heart, offering solace in the midst of life’s complexities. Kid Villain not only invites you into this contemplative journey but, between the sounds and the honesty, asks for you to continue that journey long after on the car ride home. Featuring Lars Erik-Larson (drums), Adam Bjoraker (guitar), Matt Tessier (bass), and Alex Proctor (keys). Instagram // Bandcamp

Native to St. Paul, Minnesota, Berit Ahlgren gained her foundational dance training from Minnesota Dance Theater and received a BFA in Dance from St. Olaf College, where she also studied biomedical studies. Ahlgren was a founding member of TU Dance and performed with the company between 2006—2016. With the support of MRAC’s Next Step Fund, Berit moved to Tel Aviv, Israel, in 2011 to study the Gaga Movement Language, and has been teaching Gaga between Minneapolis and New York since 2012. Ahlgren earned her MFA in Dance from Tisch School of the Arts in 2016, after which she relocated back to Minneapolis where she freelances with Ashwini Ramaswamy, Hatch Dance, and choreographs for her dance organization, HoneyWorks. Dancers Amanda Sachs and Elena Hollenhorst will also perform. Website // Instagram

Kaleena Miller makes and participates in sound-focused dance works. Miller’s choreographic work places attention and sensation at the forefront, seeking to create an ecosystem of listening that gives space for the audience and performers to consider/re-consider our bodies and actions in relation to other humans, structures and sounds. She is director of tap dance companies Kaleena Miller Dance and KMD2, and co-director of percussive dance producing entity Twin Cities Tap. She was named one of DANCE Magazine’s 25 to Watch, received a McKnight Dancer Fellowship and a Sage Award, and is currently an Artist-in-Residence at the American Tap Dance Foundation in New York. Kaleena is currently splitting time between Minneapolis and New York, and is working towards an MFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Kaleena is thankful for and deeply indebted to her first tap dance teachers: Karla Grotting and Char Weiss. Website // Instagram
