Join us for a, like, totally awesome night of teenage thrills, rock ‘n’ roll, and Nicolas Cage’s ill-conceived chest hair! That’s right, a totally bitchin’ triple feature: the 1983 Martha Coolidge teen classic, Valley Girl on 35mm, and jumping right out of the screen on to the stage will be 80s New Wave sensation Josie Cotton (who appears in the film’s epic final scene), along with her band. This is Josie’s first time ever performing in Minneapolis! Sing along to all the hits from the film, like, “He Could Be the One,” “School Is In,, and Josie’s own beloved cult classic, “Johnny, Are You Queer?,” which has become a LGBT anthem for generations. The night kicks off with a presentation by author of Teen Movie Hell, Mike “McBeardo” McPadden, who will take you on a journey through frats, summer camps, and the bane of existence of any child of the 80s – the high school locker room! This is a one-time-only, once-in-a-lifetime event presented by The Parkway Theater and TravoRamo FaFaFa! Get your ticket, like, for sure now!
DJ Jake Rudh kicks off the evening, spinning all the classic hits from "Valley Girl" along with other 80s gems.
