Job Title: Marketing/PR Manager
Reports to: Theater Manager
Classification: Exempt
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
The Parkway Theater is seeking a Marketing/PR Manager to own and develop The Parkway Theater’s image as an iconic and premier event venue; endearing it to the public by executing brand strategy, planning, and nurturing PR strategy and marketing it to ticket buyers.
Duties & Responsibilities
The following is not an exhaustive list of the duties of the position; rather, it is a broad description of the work and major performance requirements:
1. Marketing and Communications
Manage the website and create website content
Create content for ads and purchase ads
Manage all social media, developing a strong and clear social media voice
Build and distribute calendar and newsletter
Distribute digital images of posters to FOH manager to print, post and add to pre-show slide show
Coordinate and manage event announcements with a goal of announcing at least 8 weeks before the event date
2. Public Relations
Create and distribute press releases
Make sure local media outlets are aware of what’s being announced each week and when tickets go on sale to meet their print publication deadlines
Build and manage relationships with local press, maximizing exposure for The Parkway
3. Ad Sales
· Sell slide show ads and newsletter ads, collect revenue from these ads
4. Films
· Coordinate with the film booking team to build a strong, marketable calendar of screenings
· Develop and execute a strategy for successful marketing and PR
5. Live Events
· Coordinate with the Talent Buyer to develop and execute a strong marketing and PR strategy
6. Ticketing
· Provide appropriate images and copy to FOH Manager to allow events to be posted in a timely manner
7. Additional Tasks
· Collaborate and cooperate with all staff to advance The Parkway Theater goals
· Manage a weekly marketing meeting
· Build and maintain relationships across the Twin Cities arts/entertainment scene to facilitate cross-promotional opportunities
· Maintain a good understanding of the big-picture activities and goals of The Parkway Theater while attending to individual responsibilities and tasks
Qualifications
Strong communicator with deep writing and design skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships within and outside of the organization. At least 3 years of experience marketing live performance.
