Join legendary drummer Gordy Knudtson with special guests Jim Anton and Dean Magraw for the debut performance of their yet-to-be-named trio followed by a drum clinic that covers playing techniques and ergonomics to musically understanding and fulfilling your role in a band.  This unique event, which is not limited to drummers, showcases Gordy’s jaw-dropping technique, style, and taste in musical, solo, and educational performances complemented by other world-class musicians.

In addition to outstanding music and education, network with Twin Cities musicians before, during intermission, and afterward while enjoying craft cocktails (including non-alcoholic) and snacks from the bar.

Gordy Knudtson is a live and studio drummer who effortlessly spans musical styles from jazz to Latin to rock and everything in-between, and he has held the drum seat in The Steve Miller Band for over three decades.  Gordy is well-known as a master educator, and he has taught a “who’s who” list of drummers in the Twin Cities and beyond. Gordy has written multiple well-known instructional books and is the foremost developer of the Open/Close Technique that has received rave reviews from drum legends Joe Morello and Jim Chapin among others.

Jim Anton is an award-winning bassist, composer, and educator who has played with Jonny Lang and Greazy Meal, and Dean Magraw is an award-winning composer, arranger, and producer known for his “Heavy Meadow” approach to the guitar.
