The third film in the hockey trilogy from Northland Films, the producers of Pond Hockey and Forgotten Miracle. In Minnesota's unforgiving North Country, senior boys from rival communities skate for a last chance to etch their names into local lore.
This is Hockeyland.
This screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers, including director Tommy Haines, along with other featured cast members.
Senior high school boys from rival towns—one a growing dynasty, the other with a fabled past—skate for a last chance to etch their names into local lore. Minnesota’s unforgiving North Country has been turning out hockey idols for generations, and victory is still the expectation. But the times, they are a-changin’, and toughness is no longer the only measure of a man. In America’s far reaches, Hockeyland provides a portrait of youth on the brink.
Directed by Tommy Haines (2021, USA, 108 minutes)
